We take the greatest pride in conserving natural history specimens for our clients. Our work follows the strict guidelines set for by ICON for conservationists as well as further checks we have adopted to ensure the upmost care is taken in preserving specimens.
We are proud members of the Natural Sciences Collections Organisation, Geological Curator's Group, Association of Applied Palaeontological Sciences, Institute of Conservation and numerous more organisations.
This service is ideal for both Life and Earth Science collections, with treatments available for a number of cases. Our specialty is the treatment of pyrite decay in geological collections.
We provide a Method Transcript (MT) as part of our service which is a written record of each technique used consecutively in conserving the specimen(s).
We ensure procedural reversibility where possible in our conservation services to assure the condition of the specimen(s) remains unchanged in the long-term. All adhesives used by us are conservation grade when permissible and are only used in necessary cases.
Our conservation services are priced at £25/hr + VAT plus the cost of materials and transport.
Turnaround time is variable dependent on business work loads.
Typically 1 week for 'small' fossils to several months for 'large' fossils.
