At Neo Jurassica we ensure the upmost care is taken when extracting specimens from the earth. We require the written consent of the land owner before any excavation can take place.
Research Orientated
With our client's consent, we aim to record as much geological data as possible before and during excavation. This increases the research value of specimens extracted. We log gathered data in digital field journals and use photogrammetry to map sites.
SSSI Sites
We do not excavate on Sites of Special Scientific Interest without written permission from Natural England. If access to the site is granted, our services can be hired, however we will only excavate specimens that are being donated to Accredited Public Collections for research from such localities.
GCR Sites
If requested to excavate a Geological Conservation Review series site, clients will be expected to consent to geological data collection and Neo Jurassica will operate to conservation guidelines.
Public Sites
On sites owned by the Crown Estate or National Trust, we adhere to any Collecting Code or Fossil Recording Scheme they have signed up to for the locality.
Construction Site Access
We have individuals on our team who are professionally qualified in accordance to the Construction Skills Certification Scheme. We ensure only staff with the correct credentials are sent to sites with restricted access and ensure their liability on such sites is held by our organisation. Additionally, we have members of our team with NPORS Operator Licenses in cases where larger machinery is applicable to excavation.
Area of Operation
Currently our excavation and prospecting services are limited to England and Wales.
We can operate in Scotland but only for Public Sector clients in accordance to the Scottish Fossil Code.
